the movers came at 10. i got a call and directed them to the parking area. there were two of them, D and D, D1 has been in the moving business for 23 years. D2 books a cruise at the end of the year each year to have something to look forward to. they talked about moving for someone famous, and D2 says everyone is the same. no matter how much money they have, more money more problems, more responsibilities.
they have a ticker sticker tape system, starting from 00 they label each item, i had 38 items in total, around 1k pounds, i was estimated 3500 lbs in my contract.
i have so few items, but it still took me the entire weekend and monday tuesday and wednesday to pack.
my two thoughts when i was packing were 1) where do i put this, like a 3d jigsaw puzzle, accounting for weight and hardness. i had to do that for 18 boxes. the other thought was why i owned so many things, and how i can live more minimally.
they made a parts box for me, which contains all the screws and parts needed for the big items.
once all the boxes left my house, i cleaned up the house, packed my suit case, returned a heater at UPS and spectrum internet
i ordered from 1618 but the hu tieu noodles were terrible. bad move.
overall, this was a good learning experience. i've realized packing is a full time job, i couldn't work and pack, and the stress even got me to binge the supernatural tv series, which i will not continue.
this is my last night in austin. although i never got the chance to explore enough of austin, it was a nice city.
